Artwerk Wander

Artwerk Wander is an initiative to explore the interplay between the becoming of the work of art and its environmental medium. The essence of art lies not solely in the process of making and crafting, or in its finished form, but also in the artwork itself, which opens up new avenues for thoughts, dialogues, and experiences.
Where artworks become vessels of contemplation, navigating the balance between intention and spontaneity. By inviting urban artwerk to go on a journey in the Black Forest, we facilitate unexpected encounters and thoughts on understanding of both the artistic process and the interconnectedness of things. We seek to connect wandering souls, united by the pursuit of inspiration and the exploration of ideas, to contribute their unique voices to a collective narrative about the meaning of the work of art.

//For the Artwerk/ artist
We invite travelling artists or their works to join the wanderer on a walk in the Black Forest. Urban artists can send their works to us or bring them along as we hike together. Allow your artwerk to encounter the unexpected.

//For the Wanderer
Carrying others’ works of art is no simple task; it requires care to convey their message while remaining silent. Let these artworks journey to foreign places without a specific purpose; what matters is the experience of the journey itself. For the wanderer, it’s merely a direction, a passage through the thoughts that arise while walking.

//Submission
We require a short document to accompany your pieces, sharing your dialogue and thoughts. Once confirm the date schedule, you can send your artwerk, including the return shipping fee, along with any amount you wish to contribute to our water, coffee, and snacks fund (this is optional). After the hike, a stamp tag will be included with your artwerk to return home.

We welcome artwerk based on your concepts or ideas—finished pieces are not necessary.
